Former President John Mahama has expressed that government’s appearing to be a conscious dedication to the free Senior High School policy was going to end up damaging the credibility of public sector secondary education in the country.
He made expectations that guardians would before long begin losing confidence in the open senior secondary educational system. He said this would be simple in view of the drop in quality with the presentation of the free SHS.
“What we are doing with this immense convergence into the auxiliary educational system because of the free SHS program. It will influence the nature of government-funded schools. Also, soon we are going to discover a framework where individuals lose confidence in government-funded schools and everyone will pay to take their wards to private optional schools. That is the risk we are discussing,” Mahama noted.
