Ghana’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia joined scores of people on Monday to celebrate Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, 69th birthday Mass at the Saint Cyprian Anglican Cathedral in Kumasi.
The Thanksgiving administration at the St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, was an all-white event as the gathering was clad in different sorts of white fabric, kente, and the uncommonly structured material to praise his twentieth commemoration on the royal position as Asantehene.
The Mass was commended by the Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo.
He was helped by a large group of clerics and ministers from inside and outside Kumasi, including the Most Rev. Subside Kwasi Sarpong, Archbishop Emeritus of the Kumasi Archdiocese of the Catholic Church.
In participation were the chilren of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Nana Kwame Kyeretwie and Ohemaa Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem.
Conveying the lesson, the Retired Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, Rt Rev. Nuh-Ben Abubekr, related a few accomplishments of the Asantehene, which incorporated the advancement of formal instruction in the nation through the Otumfuo Education Fund and the goals of most chieftaincy debate in the Ashanti Region which, he stated, had realized harmony and was encouraging improvement.
