President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has left Accra today, February 3, 2019, for a three-country visit that would see him go through eight days in South Africa, the United States of America, and Ethiopia.
In his absence, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would assume his job as per Article 60(8) of the 1992 Constitution.
He would make his first stop in South Africa where he would take an interest in the 2019 release of the Investing in African Mining Indaba Conference at which he is relied upon to give the keynote address.
It is the world’s biggest mining investment gathering dedicated to the capitalization and improvement of mining in Africa. Nana Akufo-Addo would then move to the United States of America to visit and deliver a keynote speech at the 67th Annual National Prayer Breakfast on the welcome of National Prayer Breakfast Host Committee. The morning meal meeting would be hung on Thursday, February 7, 2019. The President would likewise take part in a fundraising event for the construction of the National Cathedral.
His last stop would be in Ethiopia where he will lead Ghana’s assignment to the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU). It would be hung on the subject “Exiles, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa”.
President Nana Akufo-Addo is normal back in Accra Monday, February 11, 2019.
